It doesn't matter where we come from, what matters is where we are headed. Alternatively, what matters is where our roots dig deep, and the history that shapes us.

Take heed, potentially you will find yourself as confused as I am about which piece of advice is the best. Some days, I imagine that I am grounded in the experiences of my past. Other days, I am certain that none of it matters and that the only thing that matters is that I move forward.

Again, it is not the ideas that surround us but the ideas that we surround ourselves with and hold true to ourselves.

In a time where the likelihood of long family lunches is even more sparse, there is a movement, one which is going back to old values. A inclination that says slow down, this is no longer a race, buy organic!- because apparently organic is synonymous with the more amble and holistic life.. While on the other hand, a voice that quietly screams, money, money, money. as if it would make all the suffering of life go away.

We live in a world that says we cannot have both, that we cannot be attached to our families AND be committed to our greater purpose or career.

However, among all the noise, the chaos, and confusion, there is always a little voice that is born among the loud ones, trying to find its place at the table.

It is the voice that sticks with us in our most challenging moments, or when we are lost between the woods and the bright city lights. This is the voice that is going to tell you what you need in that moment. And maybe you can't be with your family all the time, but a phone call or email is suffice to keep valuable relationships alive.

It is the voice at says, life is not that short, nor that long, so spend time doing what you love and seeing who you love. It's that simple.

Are you going to let have a word edgewise, lest a sip of your coffee between client meetings?
