Leading. Take 2

After having a think about the previous post I wrote on leading, I think I have got it a bit wrong.
In fact, my tenacity invested in thinking that leadership is the art of setting an example lacks credibility because I failed to consider what example being set is the objective.
It appears that the assumptions I have made about setting an example is based on a personal response to what I believe is good leadership. However, just because someone is perceived as a good leader, it does not necessarily mean that we seek to emulate them.
In fact, what I recall from my politics of leadership classes, is that those who are perceived as good leaders are precisely people who are idolised or attributed with non-human qualities in some cases such as Emperor Hirohito.
I have a lot more thinking to do, considering Emperor Hirohito, Hitler, Churchill and Trump, are all viewed as great leaders by a minority, many or seemingly a majority. Also, I note that I have not mentioned any female leaders here. This also requires evaluation.
To be continued.
