Dreams

It wasn't my idea that the sun and the moon and the stars decided to become ruly among themselves. Like some sort of rebel congregation, they would throw themselves about the sky so that the clouds and rain are granted nothing but space and time and years to dribble down across a field of dreams. My dreams.

Ok, to be fair, I don't recall ever really having any real dreams, other becoming a wildly successful actress and spoiling my parents with an 80,000 thousand dollar merc, because that would solve anybody's financial woes..

And when I finally did arrive at some dreams, I found my well intentioned self hurtling towards a cushy academic or public servant existence, back in the days (not long ago!) when that was a career to which someone might aspire.

These days, it is a career trying to find a career. And when holding down full-time employment is about as simple as holding down a tinder date for the long-term, I think the best thing to hope for is sweet dreams, and a great bed to make them happen.
